PG GURUKUL
ACI-Accredited Paragliding Training School
PG Gurukul is one of India’s oldest and most respected paragliding schools, training pilots continuously since 2002. Built on strong fundamentals, patient instruction, and a safety-first approach, the school focuses on producing thoughtful, well-prepared pilots rather than rushed certifications.
In 2025, PG Gurukul became the first paragliding school in India to receive accreditation from the Aero Club of India (ACI). This affiliation formally acknowledges the standards, training methods, and safety practices the school has followed consistently for over two decades.
Training at PG Gurukul is intentionally structured, slow-paced, and student-centric. Each participant is guided through every stage of learning – from understanding weather and equipment to developing judgment, discipline, and decision-making skills required for safe flying.
Gurpreet Dhindsa
Founder & Chief Instructor
Gurpreet Dhindsa has been flying paragliders since 1993 and has trained students since 2002. With over 30 years in the sport, he is among the most experienced paragliding instructors in India.
An M.Sc. in Physics, Gurpreet brings strong scientific reasoning into training, particularly in areas such as aerology, weather assessment, and flight judgment. His teaching style is known for clarity, calmness, and depth, allowing students to grasp complex concepts with confidence.
He competed internationally for 21 years in open-class paragliding competitions and achieved six international podium finishes, placing him among a small group of Indian pilots with sustained global competition experience.
Over the years, he has represented India internationally, mentored many accomplished pilots, and remained deeply committed to honest, patient instruction. The ACI accreditation coincides with three decades of his flying journey — a milestone that reflects long-standing dedication to the sport.
Training Philosophy
PG Gurukul believes that paragliding training must go beyond takeoff and landing skills. Students are trained to:
Read and Respect Weather Conditions
Understand Equipment Thoroughly
Build Sound Judgment & Decision-making Habits
Progress Only When Mentally & Technically Ready
Every student is observed closely, briefed carefully, and corrected thoughtfully. Progression is individual, not rushed.
Safety & Equipment Standards
Safety is treated as a daily responsibility rather than a checklist item.
- All gliders are inspected regularly
- Porosity testing is conducted periodically
- Line trimming and laser line checks are routine
- Equipment maintenance and repairs are handled in-house
- Students are briefed clearly before every training step
These practices form the foundation of PG Gurukul’s training culture.
